Ralph Lauren visits London to announce the Ralph Lauren Centre for Breast Cancer Research at the Royal Marsden

ounded in London in 1851, the Royal Marsden was the world’s first hospital dedicated to oncology and cancer treatment, and it has remained a leader in those fields ever since. On Monday, May 12, 2014, Ralph Lauren and his family traveled to the capital of the United Kingdom to announce the Ralph Lauren Centre for Breast Cancer Research, which was spearheaded by a major grant by Ralph Lauren Corporation to the Royal Marsden.

Following the announcement and a tour of the center’s grounds, the Laurens and other major donors and supporters of the hospital attended a gala dinner hosted by the Duke of Cambridge at Windsor Castle to celebrate the Royal Marsden’s work. Also in attendance were several notable guests, including actresses Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter and Zhang Ziyi; photographer Mario Testino; writers Hamish Bowles and Sheherazade Goldsmith; Lord and Lady Carnarvon; and supermodels Kate Moss and Arizona Muse.
